  • Facilitate modules on mediation, conflict transformation and negotiation at summer and winter academies: CONTACT South Asia (Kathmandu); GIZ Regional Academy „Transformation Lawyers – Legal Dialogue for Legal Transformation” (Berlin); TWAI Engaging Conflict (Turin).
  • Teach master level courses at the Hertie School of Governance (Berlin); University of Kent (Brussels); and Willy Brandt School of Public Policy (Erfurt).

MEDIATION CONSULTANT AND TRAINER

European Forum for international Mediation and Dialogue (mediatEUr), Brussels

  • Consult on mediation (e.g. field deployments to Georgia, Kosovo, Libya, Myanmar, & Tanzania.
  • Train on EU projects funded by the European External Action Service.
  • Lead Project (2013-2014) to support the establishment of the European Institute of Peace. My responsibilities included advising the Swedish Foreign Ministry and EIP staff; creating mediation building blocks to test possible areas of work for the EIP; and operational support in the early stages of development.
  • Facilitated roundtables (e.g. Creating a Common European Space, Egyptian Civil Society Dialogues, and International Standards of Peace Mediation).

CSSP: BERLIN CENTER FOR INTEGRATIVE MEDIATION, Berlin

Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors

  • As Director, drove the conceptualization of Integrative Mediation and mediation support activities across the western Balkans, North Africa, and South Asia).
  • Supervised the organization’s strategic work and finances, including defining the organization’s vision, mission, and goals.
  • As the senior mediator lead 30 mediation projects driving transformation across 10 divided communities in Kosovo, Macedonia, and Serbia
  • As the senior trainer, I drove the development of materials, role-plays, and simulations; established interactive problem-solving workshops as the core methodology of the organization; and spearheaded several mediation training projects (e.g. €100K for UNDP Macedonia and two three-year projects for the Austrian Development Agency ranging between €200K and €300K each).
  • As the primary fundraiser, I collaborated closely with government institutions and civil society actors driving annual grants from €180K to €800K and managing multiple donor grants between €75K and €500K.

Mediation Advisor

  • Performed strategic conflict analysis on divided communities and target regions; managed relations with international missions; and assisted in over 150 mediation meetings across 50 divided communities.

  • Drafted mediation agreements and held pre-mediation dialogue sessions.
